Understanding how systems change can be achieved alongside communities in Aotearoa just got a lot easier.
Across nine webinars; practitioners, policy advisors, academics and more tuned in to hear and learn about systems change. The webinars were presented by change agents from across the motu with real-life examples of how the approach can be brought to life in Aotearoa. Healthy Families Waitākere brought the series to life, coordinating and overseeing its development and progress across the nine webinars.
Originally planned to be a physical symposium in Tāmaki Makaurau, the presentations were reconfigured to a digital format after the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. The presentations were designed to deepen viewers understanding, learn new tools and to motivate thinking about ways to apply the examples to communities across the motu.
“The webinar today was fantastic – thank you. How can I get hold of this recording to share with my colleagues?”
Public Health participant, Waikato District Health Board
Presenters shared mahi across a variety of settings, from Māori systems return to Pasifika wellbeing, transforming built environments to mental wellbeing in sport and improving access to healthy and affordable kai.
The series attracted viewers from a broad range of sectors including DHB’s, the police force, community organisations, Universities and Regional Council members.
Healthy Families Waitākere is currently reviewing the success of the 2020 webinar series to understand what a follow up series in 2021 could look like.
